I am responsible for the Communication Office of cE3c - Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes, at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (Portugal).

Which is to say that my daily tasks include preparing news and press releases, managing our presence in social media, interviewing invited researchers and organizing social communication events aimed at diverse publics :)

My academic path is quite varied. I am a Physicist by training, with a PhD in Evolutionary Game Theory and Network Science (2008-2012, University of Lisbon), after which I did a Master’s in Science Communication (2012-2015, New University of Lisbon). And a PostDoc in Evolutionary Game Theory and Network Science (2013-2014, University of Aveiro). Yes, at the same time.

Winning FameLab Portugal 2014 gave me the confidence boost I needed to switch careers and become a full-time science communicator: first in Project’s Team of Pavillion of Knowledge – Ciência Viva (2014-2015), the largest science center in Portugal, and afterwards in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (2015-nowadays).

For me, science communication is about making useful to others my passion for reading, writing and learning about any area, contributing to a more informed society and making science as a natural part of culture.
